We are looking for a Sr Application Architect.Position type: Contract to HireDuration: 6+ MonthsLocation: Columbus, OH or Wilmington, DEAs a Sr Application Architect, you will:Job responsibilities: Represents a product family of technical governance bodies Provides feedback and proposes improvements to architecture governance practices Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Advanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight Practical cloud native experience Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Responsible for the end-to-end architecture of the product, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. Oversee the rationalization of assets owned or used by the product to optimize performance, cost, and resource utilization. Define the target state architecture of the product and drive the achievement of the strategic goals. Lay out the architectural runway and develop a technical roadmap to achieve the target state in incremental steps. Ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards and guidance, maintaining consistency and compliance across the product architecture. Address data concerns and non-functional requirements, such as performance, scalability, security, and reliability, within the architectural plans. Assess the changing needs of the business and its customers to identify the right architecture and technology solutions that support the product. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the product architecture to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement. Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Experience in designing end-to-end architecture for systems using Spring Boot/Java microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design concepts.
