Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take control of their career potential by leading a multi-discipline team to address the challenges of North Americau2019s largest utilities. Opportunities may include, but are not limited to: + Innovating project approach to optimize safety, schedule, and profitability. + Training and mentoring less experienced engineers in their technical and professional development. + Performing quality control reviews. + Leading/Overseeing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, structure foundations, and secondary oil containment. + Providing support for our clients during construction. + Performing field inspections and compliance documentation. + Leading a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure project success. + Presenting designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc. + Corresponding and/or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors. + Leading project proposal efforts. + Advancing into leadership roles. Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of structural engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred. + Or Bachelor's Degree in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 7 years of structural engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred. + Or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering and 6 years of structural engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred. + Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. + Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7). + Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. + Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. + Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications. + Ability to travel. + Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
