Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently, supporting the day-to-day needs of our organization.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES- Identify defects in vehicles and related equipment, determining the scope of repairs, adjustments, or replacements needed.- Disassemble, clean, replace, reassemble, rewire, and adjust electrical equipment, controls, accelerators, and other vehicle components.- Disconnect wiring and bolts, remove controllers, and replace platform controllers and junction boxes. Relocate and rearrange auxiliary control and power wiring, and perform electrical repairs as needed.- Troubleshoot issues down to the module and component level, replacing faulty modules and components to restore functionality.- Install and replace wiring in complete electrical circuits or components, including control units, interlocks, contractors, and power resistors.- Perform emergency repairs on-site, such as replacing trolley poles, ropes, harps, retrievers, shoes, tires, fuses, and light bulbs. Adjust doors and windshield wiper arms, disconnect wires from group circuits, and operate vehicles to designated locations.- Clean, buff, grind, and file component parts; drill holes for cable and pipe cleats; make adjustments on control panels; remove, replace, and reconnect batteries; and replace accelerator and brake cables.- Remove, repair, and replace climate control components as needed.- Perform welding, heating, or gas cutting operations required for maintenance tasks.- Conduct vehicle tests using diagnostic equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, and accelerometers. Observe performance, determine acceleration and deceleration rates, and correct any issues.- Direct and support employees in lower classifications as required.- Clear and clean work areas, ensuring a safe and organized environment.- Complete daily work reports and submit them to the Foreman.- Move items by hand or with company vehicles as needed.- Perform related tasks as assigned, including responding to calls during storms and emergencies. Work may involve stooped, bent, or cramped positions, as well as working from ladders or scaffolds.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent and two years technical school.u00a0- Must have 2 years related experience, be proficient in working from mechanical, years related experience, be proficient in working from mechanical, electrical, electronic, logic and pneumatic drawings and schematics. Familiar with current and voltage waveforms and graphs.
