Adolescent Addiction Counselor

Primary Purpose: Provides effective counseling services to outpatient clients and adolescents in accordance with OASAS and Agency rules and regulations.Responsibilities: Provides group and individual counseling services to clients in recovery; this includes motivation, support, and encouragement for client goals. Works cooperatively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to meet the treatment needs of each client. Conducts screenings, assessments and referrals. Motivates clients to do their best Writes effective treatment plans. Maintains a caseload. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in case records according to agency policy and regulatory requirements. Attends and participates in all assigned meetings, trainings, case conference and committees. Makes and completes all referrals to appropriate services.Education & Experience Requirements:- Associate Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.- A minimum of two (2) years' work experience as a counselor, preferably in an OASAS licensed Outpatient Chemical Dependency treatment program.License Requirements: Minimum of CASAC-T is required.
