FTE: 0.600000 Standard Hours: 24.00Shift: Shift 3 Shift Details: Holidays: Rotating Weekends: Every 3rdweekend Job Summary: The Critical Care Technician (CCT), under thedirection and supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated ageappropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner in theCritical Care Units. The CCT assists patients with the tasks outlined intheir clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills,personal care skills, basic restorative services, and necessary criticalcare skills.. The CCT practices and performs what was taught duringtheir CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursingcourses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CCT may beasked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reports to theNurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned Critical Care Unitand the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course orequivalent within 6 months of date of hire is required. LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification isrequired, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program andable to provide documentation from an accredited school for professionalnurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing coursewhich encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsinadministrative code and a minimum experience of one acute caremedical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA)Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
