CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Gas Engineer IV to join our Gas Engineering Team in Albany, NY; Syracuse, NY; or Norwell, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the way in designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions for natural gas distribution, transmission, and system modernization while taking ownership of complex projects. What You'll Do: Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for natural gas distribution and transmission projectsPlan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of gas engineering projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staffMonitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in critical energy infrastructureComplete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutionsProvide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff What You Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering requiredMinimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) license requiredAdvanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft OfficeExperience with Natural Gas Piping or Process PipingThorough knowledge of 49 CFR part 192 and referenced codes such as but not limited to: ASME BPVC, B31 piping codes and relatedExperience in sizing and selection of pressure regulation, over pressure devices, heat exchangers, vessel, heaters, meters, and piping components3D modeling skill such as Plant 3D in the AutoCAD and the ability to interface with designers in the 3D environmentAbility to oversee integration of muti-discipline models and CADD coordination to generate drawing setsExperience with Caesar II piping stress analysis as applied to B31.8, B31.3, or B31.1 pipingHydronic system design and the selection and specification of pumps, boilers, control valves, pipe sizing, and associated safety systemsAbility to defend and present designs in a process hazard analysis, PHA, or similar hazard analysis environmentStrong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering lawsProven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsParticipation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred Why You'll Love It Here: Lead challenging natural gas infrastructure projects that support energy reliability, resiliency, and modernizationMentor and inspire junior engineers passionate about enhancing utility systems and serving communitiesCollaborate with talented professionals across disciplines in a flexible work environmentCurious about the impactful work our Gas Engineering Team is doing?
