Description Our client is an well-established construction business with growing operations that is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to join their expanding team in Arlington, Virginia. This role is integral to the construction accounting team, focusing on cost management, budgeting/forecasting, financial reporting, and collaboration with project executives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in analyzing budgets and providing accurate projections to support decision-making and organizational success. Responsibilities: u2022 Conduct comprehensive reviews and updates of budgets and job status reports for multiple construction projects on a monthly basis. u2022 Deliver monthly profit projections and create dashboards to provide actionable insights for management. u2022 Facilitate job status meetings with stakeholders and project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting. u2022 Provide guidance to entry-level cost engineers and other team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing. u2022 Train office and field staff in the use of project management software, ensuring efficient system utilization. u2022 Prepare and compile various monthly financial reports for senior leadership and company executives. u2022 Analyze project costs to identify risks, opportunities for savings, and implement mitigation strategies. u2022 Assist in the preparation of new construction project proposals, providing detailed cost analysis and recommendations. u2022 Support project executives in managing subcontractor agreements, change orders, and cost reporting. u2022 Audit and reconcile project performance using specialized project management software to ensure accuracy and compliance. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field. u2022 At least 5-7 years of experience, with a focus on construction cost management preferred. u2022 Strong proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control methodologies. u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams. u2022 Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality work. u2022 Ability to identify and address financial risks in construction projects to minimize exposure. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with familiarity with cost management software such as Procore or Timberline. u2022 Highly motivated individual with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
