The Applied Materials Global Security Organization (GSO) is hiring an EPIC Physical Security Systems Control Room Operator to work within theGlobal Physical Security EPIC center, GSOC, and Lab Security team. Core focus would be to Operate and monitor enterprise physical security systems within the Global Physical Security EPIC Center, and lab environments; ensure timely alarm response, optimal system use, audit readiness, and alignment with EPICu2019s business and security goals through close coordination with GSOC, GIS/GWI, Facilities, and regional stakeholders. This position willwork with EPIC operations, security operations team,and various stakeholdersfrom IT and Facilitiestoassist in the daily operations of the physical security systems and technologies, alarms monitoring and response, optimal security systems usage, andensure alignment with EPICu2019s business and security goals. The role includes local coordination with the GIS/GWI project management and break-fix teams for scheduling, tracking, and troubleshooting of the physical security related systems to ensure high levels of availability. Additionally, this role will oversee the day-to-day security systems within the EPIC center and other labs. Strategic oversight of multiplebusiness requests with a strong focus on physical security operations, andmanagement is an essential function of this role. As a key member of the Global Lab Physical Security Strategy and EPIC center and lab team the candidate willpossessdeepexpertisein: + Trackimplementation/installationand day-to-day functions of physical securitysystems,solutionsand guard force. + ImplementingAppliedu2019sphysical security systems standards. + Conducting securitysystems assessments andaudits. + Understanding the security threat landscape, business risk, and IP protection Key Responsibilities: EPIC Physical Security Systems Control Room Operator will: + Control RoomOperations: + Coordinate with GSOC andMonitor alarms, events, and analytics; triage and dispatch per SOPs and runbooks. + Maintain real-time situational awareness for EPIC and labs; escalate incidents to SecOpsand GSOC. + Track and log incidents, responses, and outcomes in approved platforms (e.g., ServiceNow/Resolver). + Systems Operation & Administration (User/Operator Focus) + Operate Access Control Systems (ACS): badge events, door/reader health, schedules, access levels (operator-level changes; admin by change control). + Operate Video Management Systems (VMS): live monitoring, evidence export, analytics review (loitering, intrusion, tailgating). + Use RTLS tools to support cleanroom/EPIC movementtracking;reconcile tracking gaps and data quality. + Monitor perimeter technologies: smart lighting states,LPRcamers,VideoAI,turnstiles, etc. + Operate visitor/contractor workflows, check-in/check-out compliance,badgeprovisioning coordination. + Lab Entry Control technologies like metal detectors,X-Ray machines, facial recognition, tailgating alarms, etc. + Alarm Monitoring & Incident Response + Acknowledgealarms/events, verify via VMS/analytics, dispatch guard force, document actions. + Apply dual-factor/MFA policies in high-IP zones (facial recognition + badge when applicable). + Coordinate response to critical alarms (forced door, duress, tamper, system health), tailgating, loitering, intrusion attempts, etc.withGSOC and localSecOps. + Training & Documentation:Maintainand update operator SOPs, quick guides, floor plans, and runbooks.Train guards/control room operators on system use, alarm triage, and evidence handling. + Partner with business units, facilities,andGlobal Information Systemsto understand operational needs and risk profiles. Address security vulnerabilities andprotect critical IP, personnel, and assetsat EPIC and labs. + Serve as the strategic SME and advisor for physical securityoperationsacrossthe EPIC center and other labbusiness operations, aligning solutions with business priorities, standards, and site tiering models. + LeadEPIC and labcross-functional collaboration with regional Security Operations,local(PSSM)project management team, GIS/IT, LCO(legal), and GWI/Facilities to ensure cohesive deploymentof security systems. + Compliance, Privacy & EHS:Adhere to privacy policies for video/RTLS data; apply least-privilege access.Follow cleanroom protocols and EHS requirements in labs; coordinate safe access with Facilities. + Partner withinternal andexternal stakeholders likeGIS PST, GWI,security technology vendors,localsecurityintegratorsto ensure day-to-day operationsand security systemsare not interrupted. Oversight & Compliance + Review physical security system designs forEPIC and labprojects, ensuring compliance withAppliedu2019sGlobal Security Design and Scoping Standards. + Engage withvendors and internal stakeholders to track end-to-end completion ofEPIC andlab securitycontrols. + SupportGSOsitelabsecurity audits/assessmentsregionally,identifyinggaps in physical securitysystemsandworkingwith stakeholders from security operations and PSSM to remediate findings. + Ensure all implemented systems meet regulatory, corporate, and industry standards for physical security and data protection. Experience + Bacheloru2019sor Associatesdegreerequired;Equivalentcombination of education and experience will be considered. + Professional certifications such as ASIS CPP, PSP, or relevant security technologyuser levelcertifications (e.g., Cu2022CURE, Avigilon)stronglypreferred. + 8u201312+ years of progressive experience in physical securitymanagementand security technology,GSOCor local SOCmonitoring and responseexpertise,security alarmsoptimzation,response management and escalations,includinggeneral awareness aboutsystems design, integration, and lifecycle management. + 5-10 years in a SOC/control room or enterprise physical security operations role. + Semiconductor/cleanroom or high-IP lab environment experiencestronglypreferred. + Proventrack recordinoperatingandmonitoringenterprise-level physical security systems, including IP-based video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and advanced analytics. + Hands-on experience withoperatingplatforms such as Cu2022CURE and Avigilon, and familiarity withoperatingemerging technologies like AI-driven analytics, robotics, and security automation. + Demonstrated ability to develop and enforcesecurity system operations include guard force expectations, supporting evidence needed for investigations, and security alarm response Skills + Customer focusedwithdeepoperating, monitoring, and responseexpertisein physical security systems (ACS, VMS, IDS) andsecurity operations. + Alarm triage, clear communication/dispatch, incident documentation. + Cleanroom protocols and access interlocks (lab safety & contamination controls). + Strong business andphysical securityacumen to align security solutions with organizationalobjectivesand risk profiles. + Exceptional stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills, including working with IT, Facilities, and external partners. + Prioritization under pressure; 24/7 SOC discipline and handover quality. + Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Project and program managementproficiency. + Excellent communication and presentation skills forsenior management-level reporting and influencing. + High levelofproficiencyin Microsoft Suite, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, and security design tools (e.g.,SiteOwl, Avigilon, Axis, IPVM, CAD, etc.). + Ability to travelregionallyup to10%-20%.
