Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will manage high-volume payables, assist with rent collections, and contribute to streamlining accounting processes. This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to advance into a Staff Accountant role. Responsibilities: u2022 Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently. u2022 Manage accounts receivable tasks, including rent collections from internal sources. u2022 Evaluate and implement improvements to streamline accounting processes and systems. u2022 Collaborate with different entities to integrate software solutions for enhanced efficiency. u2022 Handle coding and processing of invoices with precision and attention to detail. u2022 Conduct check runs and ensure timely payments to vendors. u2022 Maintain accurate financial records across multiple sister companies and entities. u2022 Work closely with outsourced accounting firms to manage investor relationships. u2022 Assist with system evaluations to optimize internal workflows. u2022 Support the team in achieving organizational accounting goals. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable, including high-volume processing. u2022 Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage accounting software. u2022 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes. u2022 Experience coding invoices and handling check runs. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate across multiple entities. u2022 Knowledge of invoice processing and maintaining accurate financial records. u2022 Willingness to grow within the role and take on higher-level accounting responsibilities.
