OpTek Systems is a global supplier of laser processing tools and sub-contract laser machining services. Role Purpose: This is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for the development and execution of the companyu2019s global sales strategy. Biomedical is considered a key market. It will deliver a substantial pipeline of new market opportunities, effectively qualifying, quantifying, and prioritizing them to drive sustainable revenue growth. It requires structured oversight of all team activities, continuous improvement of business processes, and close collaboration with leadership teams to ensure alignment with Humanetics broader commercial objectives. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Strategy & Leadership u2022 Develop and own the global sales and business development strategy, ensuring alignment with OpTeku2019s overarching goals. u2022 Actively contributes to the broader business strategy as a key member of the senior leadership team. u2022 Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align strategic initiatives and optimize the use of shared resources. u2022 Serve as the primary external representative of OpTek in the marketplace and across group-level meetings. u2022 Establish and drive a culture of sales excellence across the organization. Sales & Business Development Execution u2022 Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets, targeting a pipeline at least 5x the annual revenue plan. u2022 Manage the full sales cycleu2014from lead generation and qualification to order placement u2014tailored to the specific business stream. u2022 Partner with the Director of Engineering and the Director of System Solutions to ensure delivery of highly qualified leads and support successful deal closure. u2022 Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers, channel partners, and other external stakeholders. Team Leadership u2022 Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing sales and business development team. u2022 Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development to enhance individual and team performance. u2022 Define and monitor sales targets and performance KPIs, ensuring timely reporting of results. u2022 Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement effective sales incentive programs. u2022 Leverage the team to gather and share market intelligence, competitor analysis, and customer insights with relevant internal stakeholders. Reporting & Governance u2022 Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, forecasts, and performance updates to local and group-level leadership. u2022 Ensure all sales activities comply with corporate policies, legal and ethical standards, and health & safety regulations. u2022 Uphold adherence to established business processes and internal service level agreements (SLAs). u2022 Support the development of the annual and five-year strategic plans, including the setting of individual and team sales quotas. Education and/or Experience: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree (B.S.) in a technical discipline from a four-year college or university u2022 5 u2013 7 years successful business development experience; experience in biomed sales is preferred. u2022 Knowledge of fiber optic, micro-machining, or laser industries preferred u2022 Ability to set, communicate and meet appropriate sales and growth goals for OpTek At Humanetics, privacy and information security is a critical feature of our corporate culture and is the responsibility of all employees.
