Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time permanent hourly Classified Equipment Technician 1 position to work approximately 16 hours a week. u00a0This position supports the Facilities Services and reports directly to the Grounds Manager. u00a0The work schedule for this position may vary, but typically 16 hours per week, and between 6:00 AM -- 2:30 PM. u00a0This position isu00a0notu00a0eligible for benefits.Performs a variety of routine minor repairs, maintenance, and repairs to cars, trucks, and light equipment. We are committed to growing, learning, and supporting our employees.u00a0JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Make minor repairs to cars, trucks, tractors, utility vehicles, forklifts, and equipment, gas, diesel, and electric.- Conduct preventative maintenance on approximately 100 service vehicles.- Maintain batteries for electric carts, including cleaning terminals and refilling distilled water- May assist journey-level equipment mechanics in teardowns, overhauls, and assembly of gasoline engines, electrical parts, cooling systems, and other components.- Perform other duties as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.- One (1) year of work experience making minor repairs to cars, trucks, tractors, utility vehicles, forklifts, and equipment, gas, diesel, and electric,u00a0ORu00a0two (2) years of experience in appliance repair or related mechanical trades.u00a0- Possession of a valid driver's license.u00a0- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to work at a workstation for long periods of time.- Willingness and ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with colleagues.- Must exhibit good work attendance.- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.- Ability to remain professional, enthusiastic and committed to service.u00a0- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.- Willingness and ability to be flexible in work hours if needed.- Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted which includes a sexual misconduct background check as required underu00a0[RCW 28B.112.080](
