Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This role involves managing the accounts payable process and contributing to additional accounting tasks, such as handling expense reports and performing reconciliations. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering a mix of in-office and remote work, with 2-3 days per week spent in the office. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the accounts payable process, including coding and processing invoices. u2022 Manage expense reports by preparing, reviewing, and processing submissions. u2022 Perform reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting records. u2022 Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and prepare check runs. u2022 Ensure proper account coding and allocation of expenses. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments. u2022 Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards. u2022 Assist with other accounting tasks as needed to support the department. u2022 Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely processing. u2022 Provide reports and updates on accounts payable activity as required. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable operations. u2022 Proficiency in coding invoices and managing account coding. u2022 Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check run processes. u2022 Strong knowledge of expense reporting procedures. u2022 Ability to process and reconcile expense reports accurately. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and vendors. u2022 Knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
