JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Purpose Provides distribution engineering planning services and technical support for the cost-effective expansion of the distribution system, while maintaining and enhancing distribution system service reliability levels and customer service. RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts engineering analysis to determine the distribution system construction requirements for new, small commercial, industrial, and residential distribution load additions in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with established distribution plans. Supports other department engineers in completion of their tasks, master planning, development of reports, development of distribution facility load forecasts, analysis of distribution system reliability, and management of department database systems. Completes special projects as assigned. Coordinates with Operations and Regional Operating Center personnel in the analysis and resolution of customer voltage and power quality problems as required. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering from an accredited school and 1-3 years industry experience as a practicing engineer. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated skills in applying electrical engineering concepts and performing engineering and cost analyses. Demonstrated skills in managing multiple tasks, communicating orally and writing, establishing positive internal and external customer relations, meeting deadlines, and performing field inspections and meetings. Equipment and Applications PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment. Must be able to travel on periodic basis.
