Main Responsibilities u2022 Embrace the Companyu2019s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams u2022 Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies u2022 Ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiency u2022 Effectively coordinate the day-to-day work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are met u2022 Actively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety and employee development u2022 Assist with training, coaching and development of employees to perform at their highest level u2022 Maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and Company business groups u2022 Effectively communicate in a professional manner in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels u2022 Establish plant production schedules to meet supply, schedule, and delivery needs u2022 Use computer system to enter and maintain data, manage schedules, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondence u2022 Batch and inspect loads to ensure consistency of mix u2022 Coordinate scheduling of plant equipment maintenance u2022 Order and maintain inventory of raw materials supply u2022 Safely operate company equipment, tooling, and vehicles as needed Skills Skills u2022 10 or more years of experience in asphalt production operations and/or related role u2022 5 or more years of experience in a supervisory role preferred u2022 Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance u2022 Ability to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferred u2022 Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines u2022 Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office products + Valid driversu2019 license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; Class B commercial license preferred (Required) Physical Requirements + Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required + Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance + Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel + Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) + Frequently required to stand; walk across uneven terrain; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl + Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery + Occasionally required to work from heights + Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions and loud noise; including some exposure to fumes or airborne particles Colas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
