WID is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems.Program description:WID is AFPEO/WI's centralized hub for Pre-LOR (Letter of Request) and Case Development for FMS new business efforts. WID provides highly reliable cost-effective weapon systems for reconnaissance, close air support, and precision munitions employment. Applicants will benefit from competitive salaries, career growth, and a unique ability to positively impact national security on a global scaleResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to:Provide specialized technical expertise for support of LAA avionic CNI systems which includes Controls and Displays, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance, Data Links, and Cabin Management Systems.Provide support for LAA avionics systems development, testing, integration, and certification efforts.Review applicable CNI OEM-delivered programmatic data (e.g., engineering drawings, performance specifications, hardware and software configuration documentation, interface control documents, and commercial item descriptions/specifications) to ensure that deliverables meet technical and programmatic requirements.Perform other CNI engineering activities to include CNI related Military and Commercial Standards Airworthiness Directives, evaluating CNI Architectures and Interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, assist with Interoperability of Communications Systems and Spectrum Management, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects airborne equipment standards, familiarization with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464, and applicable certification efforts for TEMPEST, Spectrum, and HERO.Support with IFF selectable identification features/modes and AIMS certification efforts.Support with Heads-Up Display (HUD) Primary Flight Reference (PFR) certification efforts.Have experience with military GPS, Link-16, and/or SATCOM subsystems.QualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:Citizenship: US CitizenClearance: SecretCertifications: N/AMinimum Qualifications: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD. OR bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD. Minimum of 1 year experience with the USG aircraft and project certification process, including familiarity with the MIL-STD- 1553, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429, 461, and or 464.
