43593BR Extended Job Title: Assistant Professor or Higher - Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Org Level 1: Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso Position Description: Contributes to the universityu2019s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. Requisition ID: 43593BR Optional Attachments: Professional/Personal Reference, Professional License/Certification, Transcript Travel Required: Up to 25% Major/Essential Functions: + Supervises and teaches residents and medical students in classroom and clinical settings + Provides patient care in the area of foot and ankle surgery in the inpatient and outpatient settings affiliated with a Level 1 Trauma Center + Develops a comprehensive foot and ankle division with podiatric services + Performs surgical procedures involving conditions of the foot and ankle + Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship + Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties + Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission + Maintains current board certification; or actively works towards fulfilling the eligibility criteria to qualify for board certification through the ABOS Academic Pathway, including achievement of academic promotion to the rank of associate professor and excellence in clinical care, research and teaching + Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations + Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures + Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicineu2019s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility + Upholds and promotes the value-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso Grant Funded?: No Minimum Hire Rate: salary commensurate with related education, experience and/or skills Pay Basis: Monthly Work Location: El Paso Preferred Qualifications: + Board certification in Orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery + Bilingual English/Spanish + Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher Campus: HSC - El Paso Department: Orthopaedics Elp Required Attachments: Resume / CV Job Type: Full Time Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. Required Qualifications: + M.D. or D.O. degree + One of the following: + Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) - accredited Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, or + For academic orthopaedic surgeons who have received graduate medical education outside the United States or Canada, completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program with documentation of having successfully passed the applicable certification examination in the Candidateu2019s country of education and prior practice, and a minimum of two years of clinical postgraduate training in the USA/Canada at a program accredited by the ACGME + Successful completion of an ACGME- or American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS)- accredited Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Fellowship Program + Texas medical licensure, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas Does this position work in a research laboratory?: No Jeanne Clery Act: The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal statute requiring colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to maintain and disclose campus crime statistics and security information.
