Mechanics should have strong technical knowledge, an understanding of safety practices, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. AJourneyman Plumber License is preferred, but not required. Plumbing Mechanics must: + Follow all OSHA and company safety policies + Use all required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) + Understand basic OSHA requirements for jobsite safety + Report unsafe conditions immediately + Participate in safety meetings and discussions Technical Knowledge & Code Compliance + Perform all aspects of commercial plumbing installation and repair + Ensure all work meets acceptable trade standards + Follow all applicable plumbing codes and regulations + Read blueprints and follow instructions accurately + Coordinate with other trades on site + Produce neat, professional, highu2011quality workmanship Problem Solving + Identify and report issues or deviations from drawings + Offer possible solutions to resolve challenges + Know when to elevate a problem to a Lead Mechanic or Foreman Planning & Coordination + Prepare tools and materials needed for daily tasks + Communicate needs or delays to the Lead Mechanic or Project Manager + Assist in planning work in proper sequence + Ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently Human Relations & Communication + Communicate clearly and respectfully + Follow instructions accurately and efficiently + Ask questions when needed to ensure quality installation + Support teamwork and maintain a positive jobsite atmosphere Commitment to Company Vision + Represent Southern Air with professionalism, pride, and integrity + Support the companyu2019s mission and contribute to team success Physical Requirements & Working Conditions + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing + Work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions + Work around typical construction materials and equipment + Travel to job sites, including extended drive times Reasonable accommodations may be available for individuals with disabilities.
