As an AWS Lead Software Engineer- Java/Spring/Kafka at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking's Card Cobrand Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. Job responsibilities u2022 Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems u2022 Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others u2022 Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems u2022 Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture u2022 Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies u2022 Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills u2022 Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience u2022 Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability u2022 Advanced in one or more programming language(s), including Java and Spring frameworks u2022 Hands-on experience using Kafka for building and managing real-time data streaming applications, including configuring topics, producers, and consumers, and ensuring reliable message delivery u2022 Hands-on practical experience using AWS cloud services, including designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, step functions and VPC u2022 Proficiency in automation at various stages of SDLC and continuous delivery methods u2022 Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle u2022 Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security u2022 Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) u2022 In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems u2022 Possesses AWS Developer or Architect Associate certification, demonstrating validated expertise in designing, developing, and deploying applications on AWS cloud platforms Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills u2022 Experience in front-end tools such as React, Angular, etc. u2022 Experience with scripting tools, BDD tools for automation u2022 Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms u2022 Experience implementing high throughput, low latency software applications u2022 Experience with application performance monitoring and tunning at JVM level u2022 Knowledge of observability toolset and metrics extraction Chase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America's households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
