Lockheed Martin is leading the way in hypersonic missile development and we want you to be a part of it We are creating the first hypersonic boost/glide system for the US Army and Navy here on the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program, and our NGC-SW Integrated Product Team (IPT) is responsible for the algorithms and software that control it. Our group includes the Navigation, Guidance, and Control (NG&C or GN&C) subsystem, which flies the missile and glide body, and the embedded Flight Software (FSW) which hosts the NG&C algorithms and provides health, status, and sequencing for the entire system. Additionally, we develop and maintain the Flight Software testbeds (HILs or HWILs) which provide complete hardware integration testing with feedback and flight simulation to test the NG&C algorithms and flight software. The CPS program is seeking a full-time Senior Staff Software Engineer to serve as Mission Thread Lead. In this role, you will develop, oversee and maintain alignment of our Missile Flight Software to our various customer defined Mission Threads and test events. This will require developing and maintaining a strong understanding of our technical FSW capabilities and supporting the product development aligned to our Program Requirements and Software Development Plan. We are seeking a mature technical leader to continue evolving our codebase, evaluating new technologies and delivering creative and innovative solutions. The Software Thread Lead is considered a key leadership role within our NGC-SW IPT and will work closely with Managers, CPEu2019s and Agile leadership roles to deliver Flight Software into an integrated Missile system. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Solid technical engineering background in aerospace, software, systems or similar u2022 Experience developing software or GN&C algorithms/models in a company setting u2022 Demonstrated Experience leading highly technical software development efforts for large integrated systems u2022 Experience leading crossu2011functional initiatives, interfacing with product management, hardware engineers, and external partners. u2022 Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and nonu2011technical audiences to include Customers and Program stakeholders. u2022 Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance Desired Skills: u2022 Proven track record delivering highu2011impact products or platforms from concept through production, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or related highu2011assurance domains. u2022 Strong analytical skills with a datau2011driven approach to debugging, rootu2011cause analysis, and risk mitigation. u2022 Ability to translate technical decisions into costu2011benefit analyses, ROI models, and program schedule impacts. u2022 Experience presenting technical roadmaps to senior executives, and high-level customer stakeholders. u2022 Skilled at breaking down large, complex epics into manageable features and user stories while maintaining traceability to requirements and compliance standards u2022 Active DOD Secret Clearance Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidateu2019s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
