Our program delivers depth and real experience so that you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.What we lookfor in our Construction Interns:Must be pursuing or have a degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Junior student standing or higher required.Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September depending on school); part-time availability after Summer preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work independently.Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other regularly encountered termediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint and MS Project preferred.Must be 18 years of age or olderWhat are our Construction Interns responsible for:Communicatingwith clients and project resources (subcontractors, vendors, trades) and document discussions, outcomes and decisions.Review plans and specifications troduction to electrical estimating:Identify and count symbols on drawings for each sheet.Reach out to partner suppliers to request quotes.Support the estimator or Project Manager as necessary.Help manage material submittals (including conduit, wire, electrical gear, lighting, lighting controls, low voltage system, etc.):Communicate with partner suppliers to acquire material submittal documents.Review submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.Mark up submittals to indicate corrections or note missing documents.Process requests for information (RFIs) as needed.Conduct site visits with the Electrical Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Foreman.Participate in job meetings to gain insights about the project and improve interpersonal skills.Scan and organize project documents.Provide various forms of support for current and potential plete safety audits.Other duties as assignedIf you're passionate about sustainability and want to work with our team to help solve the critical problems our industry and clients face, we invite you to apply.The hourly rate for this role is $24/hr.The McKinstry group of companies are equal opportunity employers.
