This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see:SUMMARY:The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing accurate andtimely payroll processing for both union and non-union across multiplestates. This role directly supervises one Union Payroll Specialist andone Non-Union Payroll Coordinator, while also serving as the primarybackup processor for both functions as needed. The Payroll Supervisorensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintainspayroll controls, and supports risk management and audit readiness. Thisposition partners closely with HR, Accounting, and departmental leadersto ensure smooth payroll operations and exceptional service toemployees.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supervise and manage payroll processingfor employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.- Process, review and approve payroll entries, including new hires, terminations, wage changes, bonuses, trade specific codes, and adjustments.- Serve as the backup processor, for both union and non-union payroll cycles during peak periods, or as operational needs require.- Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll laws, including state-specific tax rules, wage-and-hour regulations, and reporting requirements.- Oversee payroll tax filings, garnishments, child support orders, and benefit deductions across all states.- Support Payroll Risk managementthrough strong internal controls, proper documentation, and adherence to auditing standards.- Maintain organized payroll recordsand ensure readiness for internal and external audits.- Collaborate with HRon employee status changes, benefit updates, Loa's and timekeeping issues.- Respond promptly and professionallyto payroll-related inquiries from employees and leaders; research and resolve discrepancies.- Train, mentor, and support payroll staff, ensuring consistent processes and high-quality work.- Work with Accountingon month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.- Identify and implement process improvementsto increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.- Stay current on payroll legislation, including state-specific updates, tax changes, and regulatory requirements.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:- 7+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.- Supervisory or team-lead experiencepreferred.- Knowledge of union environmentspreferred.- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage-and-hour requirements.- Ability to manage deadlinesin a fast-paced, multi-state environment.- Proficiency with payroll systems(e.g., Dayforce, UKG, or similar) and Microsoft Office. Adjacent experience with CMiC is preferred.- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.- Strong communication skillsand the ability to work collaboratively across PENSATION DETAILS:Salary Range: $90,000-$115,000Compensation for this role includes a base salary plus an annualdiscretionary bonus.Details on our benefits can be found on theBenefits tab within the Careers section of the website.Power Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
