Ready for takeoff?We are looking for college intern who will be passionate to work for Envoy Air, the largest regional airline in the American Airlines Group (AAG) of carriers. This is an exciting opportunity where you will have the unique opportunity to work with a team of professionals to share your creative ideas to continue to build the Envoy brand, support recruiting efforts and translate complex concepts into easy to understand materials for our different audiences. Envoy operates Embraer 175 and 170 aircraft. The regional airline has expanded its network outside of the U.S. to international destinations in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.Our paid 11-week summer internship will not only enhance your studies, but also provide an educational experience you can’t find in the classroom. As an intern, you will learn real world skills while building a professional network of future peers. You will learn the ins and outs of how your team impacts the business day to day and gain an understanding of the commercial aviation business.Pay rate: $22 / hrWith this internship, the intern(s) will assist Purchasing and Contracts department with four primary projects - reviewing certain business processes for potential changes and improvements, analyzing top spend data for upcoming bids, evaluating efficacy of recent component upgrades, and developing a supplier database to support future bids.Typical job duties include:Meeting with Manager to define objectives and develop assumptionsCombining data from multiple sources, including numeric, historical procurement transactions, warranty and technical documentsFinancial and cash flow analysisAnalyzing data consistent with assigned objectives such as cost, availability, supplier performance, demand forecastsDeveloping summary of results, recommendations and alternativesPresenting findings to ManagerMeeting with colleagues across multiple departments, suppliers and managementThe intern will be responsible for three projects:Assessing certain consumable parts for changes to supplier prices and lead times. This will provide priority for supplier discussions, alternate sourcing opportunities and setting targets for improvements. The intern will learn about market indicators, impact of escalation on commodities and the role of good data collection and analysis in setting expectations and targets.Manage a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a specified group of consumable parts. The intern will learn about using data to shape priorities, understand the commercial and administrative aspect of managing RFPs, perform data analysis, develop price targets, interface with suppliers, and prepare recommendations for program award.Assist with assorted data gathering, analysis and briefing slides to support commercial discussions during the annual Air Show executive team meetings. The intern will learn the importance of tailoring our commercial message to the intended audience and setting reasonable and achievable expectations.The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment and the ability to prioritize work and projects in order to meet deadlines and objectives. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.Position Requirements:Minimum age of 18Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in: Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management Supply Chain Management with a focus on business analytics, not logisticsMust be classified as a Junior or Senior upon start of internship3.25 minimum Grade Point AverageAdvanced proficiency in MS Office that includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookProficiency in organizational, decision-making and problem solving skillsAbility to present data to all levels of managementMust be willing and able to travelDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingExperience sorting, organizing, analyzing and presenting large data setsExperience with problem solving, forecasting, and advanced financial analytical skillsMust be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English languagePossess the legal right to work in the United StatesPlease note: The description is intended to provide a brief overview of the position.
