Mill Operator 3rd shift- 10pm-6am $23-$26/hr Full-time / long-term / stable Job Description The Production Technician I plays a crucial role in our team, focusing on grain testing and the manual addition of feed ingredients following operating procedures. This position involves learning inventory management, maintenance, repair, and operation of production-related equipment, as well as housekeeping activities. Compliance with all relevant company, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations is essential. Responsibilities + Conduct grain testing including DON testing, dockage, moisture, bushel weight, and foreign material assessments. + Perform 'hand-adds' for the manual addition of feed ingredients and accurately record medication and vitamin usage. + Develop a fundamental understanding of animal nutrition and ingredient interactions with milling and grinding processes. + Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of the mill. + Understand and execute general mechanical duties as needed. + Utilize and comprehend systems such as Laserfiche, The Wenger System, and WEM. + Maintain orderly bag inventories. + Complete required training promptly. + Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor. Essential Skills + Experience as a Machine Operator with skills in ingredient monitoring and mill operation. + Ability to manually feed ingredients into machinery. + Capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + Solid foundation of general work experience. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. + Background in agriculture through education and/or experience is advantageous. + Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance is preferred. + Ability to operate various types of machinery and heavy equipment is preferred. + Valid fork-lifting certificate or willingness to obtain one within the first 12 months of employment is preferred. + Availability and willingness to work overtime and any shift, including weekends. + Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and with assistance, up to 100 lbs. + Ability to operate heavy machinery for items over 100 lbs. + Ability to work in confined spaces and dusty conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shippensburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $26.75/hr.
