Job Summary: The ED Tech provides direct patient care under the guidance of a RN or designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Essential Functions: u00b7 u200bProvides basic patient care and tasks to include, but not limited to, care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, assists with mobility, performs lab draws, ECGu2019s, basic wound care, and other unit-based specialty duties under the direction of an RN. u00b7 Completes patient rounding as assigned. u00b7 Provides 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed. u00b7 Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns. u00b7 Provides high level customer service to all patients, patient's families, community providers, visitors, and employees. u00b7 Provides accurate, precise, timely documentation as applicable to patient care. u00b7 Participates in handoff report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving. u00b7 Performs delegated tasks once competency has been validated. u00b7 Collects data, within scope. u00b7 Completes patient screenings as applicable. u00b7 Promotes quality and safety by seeking to continually improve the processes and systems to enhance patient care delivery. u00b7 Demonstrates the ability to work independently, problem solve, and be able to resolve conflict while working under considerable stress. u00b7 Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures.
