We are looking for a dedicated Emergency Services Transport EMT like you to be a part of our team. Job Summary and Qualifications u200bu200bThe Emergency Services (ES) Transport EMT will operate on the Chippenham Hospital EMS Transport Servicesu2019 Team. The primary duty of the Transport EMT will be to assist the Paramedic in rendering safe and effective treatment and transport of Chippenham Hospital patients on the Chippenham Hospital EMS Transport Servicesu2019 ambulance. The Transport EMT will respond to EMS Call-Center requests, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and facilitate transport appropriately. u00b7 Ensures the readiness of Chippenham Hospital EMS ambulances for service. u00b7 Performs checks on ambulance mechanical systems and all included medical equipment to verify full and safe working condition. u00b7 Completes daily supply check-offs, checks for dated equipment expiration, and stocks as appropriate. Maintains an aesthetically clean and safe ambulance and associated work area. u00b7 Reports all issues of ambulance readiness to the Chief of EMS Operations immediately.u200b u00b7 u200bu200bRemains available to render BLS mutual aid care to other agencies, mass casualty events, and declared disasters as outlined in Florida Statute Ch. 401.u200b u00b7 u200bu200bProvides care for patients pursuant to the Basic Life Support guidelines outlined in F.S. 401.25. Operates within Medical Protocols established by the Chippenham Hospital EMS Medical Director.u200b u00b7 u200bu200bOperates Chippenham Hospital EMS ambulance in accordance with Emergency Vehicle Operations training. Maintains safety and control of the ambulance at all times, through the use of appropriate speed, braking, and cornering techniques. u00b7 Applies the practice of u201cdue regardu201d at all times, and follows all State and local regulations on emergency equipment. Meets all current requirements of Chapter 64E-2 of the Florida Administrative Code. u200b u00b7 u200bu200bDocuments all patient information and care factually and accurately. Includes all applicable insurance information and signatures as needed. Ensures documentation for every patient transported is completed prior to the end of each shift.u200b u00b7 u200bu200bEnsures readiness of ambulance and all associated equipment for service, and performs stocking as neededu200b u00b7 u200bu200bMaintains cleanliness of interior and exterior of ambulance and EMS equipmentu200b u00b7 u200bu200bResponds to Chippenham EMS Transport Services requests for the transport of patients from Chippenham Hospital facilitiesu200b u00b7 u200bu200bProvides care in the out of hospital setting, serving as the secondary provider and assistant to the Paramedic or other healthcare provider during interfacility transportsu200b u00b7 u200bu200bProvides primary patient care activities on transports approved to be at the BLS level by the attending physician or EMS Medical Directoru200b u00b7 u200bu200bMaintains competence in thorough patient care documentation and use of both EMS PCR and ED softwareu200b u00b7 u200bu200bPerforms EMS hand off reports at facility destinations and reports appropriately to Paramedics, nursing staff, and ED Physiciansu200b u00b7 u200bu200b u200bu200bDemonstrates knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiac monitoring, and 12 lead EKG.u200b u00b7 u200bu200bActively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered. u200b u00b7 u200bu200bDemonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.
