Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of passionate individuals in Springfield, VA . In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nationu2019s security and intelligence mission. The Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract provides integration, design, development, and sustainment for data services in support of the Federal Government. Regularly, developers on GEODS are involved in designing and implementing new custom features that solve unique problems as well as updating and optimizing legacy features. Each developer has the opportunity to design and implement noticeable and impactful changes to the system as a whole. Responsibilities: As a GEODS Senior Software Engineer, you will serve as a specialist and mentor to other developers, advancing the vision and execution of the GEODS program by completing the following tasks: u2022 Contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle u2022 Write well-designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code u2022 Provide technical mentorship to project resources, particularly junior/mid-level developers, to include completing code reviews u2022 Ensure designs follow specifications approved by customer and that software quality standards are met u2022 Contribute to planning of work for future Program Increments; collaborate closely with technical leadership and product management to drive technical solutioning, requirements decomposition, and estimation efforts u2022 Recommend changes to improve established application and organizational processes u2022 Prepare and produce releases of software components u2022 Develop and execute test plans, support formal testing and resolution of defects u2022 Provide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure defects and questions Requirements: u2022 At least 4 years of demonstrated experience with software development using SAFe or similar Agile methodologies, to include working with Scrum Masters and/or Product Owners to decompose high level requirements into actionable user stories u2022 At least 4 years of demonstrated experience coding in Python or another language u2022 At least 4 years of demonstrated experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD, specifically utilizing GitLab or similar Git repository u2022 At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform u2022 At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with Container and Orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) u2022 Strong experience with AWS, including but not limited to EC2, DynamoDB, ECS, SQS/SNS, IAM, Lambda, and CDK u2022 Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical concepts and challenges/obstacles in a clear and direct manner Clearance Required: u2022 Active TS/SCI with the ability to gain and maintain a Poly Minimum Education: u2022 Masteru2019s degree plus 2 years experience, Bacheloru2019s degree plus 4 years experience, Associates degree plus 6 years experience, or a minimum of 8 years experience, in relevant field Minimum Years of Experience: u2022 Masteru2019s degree plus 2 years experience, Bacheloru2019s degree plus 4 years experience, Associates degree plus 6 years experience, or a minimum of 8 years experience, in relevant field Preferred: u2022 Cloud certification(s), preferably from AWS, OCI or Google Cloud u2022 Familiarity with AI/ML, specifically Amazon SageMaker u2022 Experience with front-end development in React u2022 Previous database experience, specifically Apache Solr u2022 Experience with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira and Confluence u2022 Previous NGA experience #javelin #externalreferral US EEO Statement Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
