Controls Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Controls Engineer to join the supply chain organization of a large retail customer. Primary responsibilities are to assist Engineering and Maintenance in design, development, optimization and maintenance of automated material handling equipment and warehouse control systems in all the Distribution Centers. The Controls Engineer will design overview control systems for industrial material handling solutions. This includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, SCADA systems and implementing solutions which deliver exceptional value. Controls Engineer will also work closely with project teams to design systems which meet or exceed the project requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSu2003u2003u2003 % OF TIME u2022u2003Controls Function: Supporting Projectsu2003u2003u2003u2003u2003u2003u200360 uf0a7u2003Perform on-site commissioning, to implement and validate Control Systems design with Integrator. uf0a7u2003Review vendoru2019s Control Systems specifications and scope documentation. uf0a7u2003Create Controls sequence of operation document, to ensure that the design meets our expectation. uf0a7u2003Design/overview system layouts, schematics and control devices uf0a7u2003Maintain a Control Systems progress schedule that relates to project milestones for each project. uf0a7u2003Prepare/overview schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication. u2022u2003Controls Function: Optimize and Support Distribution Center Control Systems 30 uf0a7u2003Provide/overview documentation and support for field wiring. uf0a7u2003Optimize/troubleshoot and write (PLC) Programmable Logic Controller programs. uf0a7u2003Configure HMIs and RTUs. uf0a7u2003Configure and troubleshoot SCADA systems. uf0a7u2003Perform Control Systems modeling and simulation. uf0a7u2003Work closely with Warehouse Control Systems team to investigate/integrate Controls solutions. u2022u2003Provide guidance/direction in assistance with Lead Engineer to train and guide 10 Controls Technicians for all sites. uf0a7u2003Provide Control Systems technical support and training to local users. uf0a7u2003Work closely with DC Operations and Distribution Engineers, for achieving Controls reporting and dashboard. uf0a7u2003Design and implement Control Systems changes and improvements. uf0a7u2003Controls Function: Perform other Control Systems related tasks/duties as assigned. u2003 uf0a7u2003May require travel.u2003 u2003u2003u2003u2003u2003u2003 u2003 This position will be 100% remote (working EST) but will require travel around 1x a month. Pay rate will be defined by hiring manager throughout the interview process based on years of experience but will be in the range of 50-65/hr. to align with salary upon conversion.
