Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Program Management: u2022 Ensure projects are properly setup and supported to execute the safety program u2022 Conduct project site audits to review records, permits, field conditions, safe work practices, and assess employee knowledge of safety policies and procedures. u2022 Ensure Project Safety employee is completing all their responsibilities u2022 Ensure corporate programs and standards are executed u2022 Lead safety business plan efforts for district u2022 Prepare reports and game plan for every month DOR u2022 Promote and own the safety program u2022 Provide feedback for how we can improve as an organization u2013 ways we can simplify and become more efficient/effective Project Visits: u2022 Proactively go to projects to assess and work with the teams to improve u2022 Majority of time should be spent on the projects Safety Talent Development: u2022 Mentor and identify development needs for Project Safety employees u2022 Participate in interviewing and hiring safety professionals Build Relationships: u2022 Collaborate and communicate frequently with Construction Management teams. u2022 Collaborate with safety professionals across the organization Manage Incidents: u2022 Accountable for incident management system data u2022 Ensure projects are set up for effective treatment management Investigation Management: u2022 Ensure proper root cause is identified and shared u2022 Follow any corporate, group or district protocols for incidents Qualifications u2022 At least Ten (10) yearsu2019 experience managing construction projects in an environmental health and safety related area specifically on industrial related projects. u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a safety related discipline. u2022 Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required. u2022 Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity. u2022 Knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills. u2022 CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred. Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment u2022 Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. u2022 Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. u2022 May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
