Final Filing Date: 2/10/2026 Job Description and Duties Training & Development Assignment may be considered for this position. Under direction of the Program and Project Supervisor of the Standards Tools Development Unit of the Building Standards Branch of the Efficiency Division, the incumbent independently performs the varied, complex, technical, and analytical work required for the development, enhancement and maintenance of the California Building Energy Code Compliance (CBECC) software and related tools e.g. compliance forms. The Building Standards Branch has primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the stateu2019s mandatory Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6), the California Building Energy Code Compliance (CBECC) software, and related tools. In addition, the incumbent represents the division and the California Energy Commission (CEC) before various state, federal, and local energy agencies and regional, national, professional, and governmental bodies which significantly influence the stateu2019s energy policies with respect to Standards Tools Development Unit activities. The incumbent will serve as a knowledgeable resource on policy, technology, market, and strategic issues as directed; and plays a primary role in coordination and collaboration with other state, federal, and local agencies, as well as other interested stakeholders and the public. Working Conditions The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers.
