The Event Sales Manager plays a key role in shaping those experiences by driving event revenue across the hotelu2019s most soughtu2011after venues, including The Nest rooftop lounge, 2nd Floor function spaces, and larger events within Conversation. This role is ideal for a salesu2011forward, relationshipu2011driven professional who thrives in a fastu2011paced environment and understands the full event lifecycle. The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling and contracting weddings (welcome parties, receptions, brunches), social celebrations, corporate happy hours, milestone events, and meetings. While the primary focus is proactive and reactive selling, the manager will also support planning and detailing based on business levels and seasonality u2014 not restricted by event lead time. The position requires strong communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with Sales, Events, Operations, and Culinary teams to ensure every event reflects the Thompson brand. Sales & Business Development + Sell event space across The Nest, 2nd Floor function rooms, and Conversation for weddings, social events, corporate gatherings, and meetings. + Conduct site inspections, host planning tours, and represent the Thompson brand with professionalism and creativity. + Respond to incoming leads from email, phone, walku2011ins, wedding platforms, and referral partners. + Prepare and present tailored proposals, contracts, and event packages that reflect client needs and hotel standards. + Prospect and cultivate local accounts with potential for repeat business and longu2011term partnerships. + Maintain accurate records, reports, and client communication within Hyatt systems. Event Detailing & Planning Support + Support planning and detailing for events of all lead times, including menu planning, timelines, floor plans, rental needs, du00e9cor, and AV coordination. + Host tastings, planning meetings, and preu2011event walkthroughs as needed. + Ensure timely collection of deposits, final payments, and required documentation. + Provide thorough turnover to the Event Coordinator and Operations teams to ensure flawless execution. + Support onsite needs during peak seasons or highu2011impact events. Client & Internal Collaboration + Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients to encourage rebookings and referrals. + Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client goals and recommending the best spaces, services, and enhancements. + Partner closely with Sales, Events, Culinary, Beverage, and Front Office teams to ensure alignment and exceptional service delivery. + Participate in and occasionally lead sales, event, and preu2011convention meetings. + Work collaboratively with the Event Coordinator and other support staff. Qualifications: + A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fastu2011paced, guestu2011focused environment. + Refined verbal and written communication skills. + Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and followu2011through. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn proprietary systems. + Hotel sales or event planning experience strongly preferred; minimum of 1u20132 years in a related role. + Ability to work effectively under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple events simultaneously. + Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationshipu2011building skills. At six months of service, colleagues are vested in the time they have been accruing. As a Tier Three employer all colleagues accrue one (1) hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked starting on their hire date, however, these colleagues cannot use their accrued sick time until they have completed 90-days of employment with Hyatt + Extended Illness Days: unused sick and safe time in excess of 72 hours converted to Extended Illness Days at the end of each calendar year + _Holiday Pay:_ + Full-time colleagues are eligible for holiday pay on their first day of employment.
