Overview: St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, masteru2019s, and doctoral students each year. Job Responsibilities: Core responsibilities of this position include: + Collaboratively develop and enhance pharmaceutical sciences education in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. + Create and deliver course material and/or coordinate team-instructed courses in the campus and online pathways. + Provide didactic instruction in assigned courses within Pharmacology sequence (Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, etc.) following course syllabi. + Contribute to student orientation and immersion components of Online Pathway instruction. + Engage in innovative teaching methods, including lectures, asynchronous content delivery, demonstrations, and student engagement activities. + Participate in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and presentations relevant to pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences. + Work collaboratively and productively with colleagues in co-instructed courses and scholarly endeavors. + Contribute and participate in service in the department, school, university, and the discipline/profession. + Mentor students in their academic and professional development, including co-curricular activities. + Participate in the assessment of student learning course outcomes, program learning outcomes, global learning outcomes, and co-curricular learning outcomes. + Participate in the interviewing of student and faculty applicants. + Expected workload distribution (Teaching: 60 u2013 70%, Service: 20%, Scholarship: 10 u2013 20%) Education / Experience: Qualified applicants will hold a Ph.D. in Pharmacology or a related discipline. Previous academic experience, especially in a professional pharmacy program, is highly desirable. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong desire to contribute to the growth and development of the school through teaching, scholarship, and service in an innovative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic manner. Competencies / Skills: + Teaching Excellence: Proven ability to deliver effective instruction in pharmacology, utilizing innovative and engaging teaching methods in both campus and online settings. + Research and Scholarship: Demonstrated potential or track record of scholarly contributions, with a commitment to advancing research in pharmacology and securing internal/external funding. + Student Mentorship: Strong commitment to mentoring and supporting the academic, professional, and research development of students. + Technological Proficiency: Skilled in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and online instructional design tools. + Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration with students, colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams. + Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment that supports a diverse student and faculty population. Supervision of Employees: Supervision of student tutors/work-study students. Work Hours: 3-year contract, 12-month, renewable based on performance. Normal work hours. Special Conditions for Eligibility: + Residency Requirement: The candidate is expected to reside in the Rochester, NY, area or relocate within a reasonable timeframe to fully engage in campus activities, teaching, and collaborative initiatives. + Flexible Schedule: Availability to teach during regular hours, with occasional evenings or weekends required for program needs, including student events, orientation, and immersion experiences.
