Requisition ID: 179484 Job Level: Entry Level Home District/Group: Weeks Marine - Construction Department: Field Operations Market: Marine Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As a Field Engineer, you will be exposed to all aspects of the project, and report directly to the Project Manager. As a Field Engineer, you will be expected to be a job-site leader in health and safety, ensuring quality of reporting and workmanship, and that all engineering work is completed in a professional and ethical manner. You main functions will include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, and project reporting, and you will play an advisory role to Project Management for contractual, legal, and other project issues. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom-designed to meet our shared needs Qualifications u2022 Ability to travel and relocate as needed u2022 1-3+ years' construction field experience u2022 Work experience in engineering and leading engineers u2022 Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related u2022 Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents u2022 Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment u2022 Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative u2022 Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time u2022 Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity u2022 Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt u2022 Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills u2022 Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives u2022 Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail #LI-LH1 Responsibilities u2022 Responsibilities Field Engineering: u2022 Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision u2022 Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work u2022 Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages u2022 Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data u2022 Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets u2022 Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAu2019s) u2022 Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training u2022 Order and schedule material deliveries u2022 Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite u2022 Supervise field operations Office Engineering: u2022 Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents u2022 Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations u2022 Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use u2022 Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested u2022 Assist in schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others u2022 Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums u2022 Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management u2022 Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager u2022 Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment u2022 Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. u2022 Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
