Part-Time Cemetery MaintenanceVarying schedule Monday-Friday, March-October.Pay Rate:Pay is hourly and varies based on experience and qualifications.Age Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age. Position Summary:Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of City cemeteries. This position supports grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and customer service functions while ensuring safety standards are met.Essential Functions:Assist with mowing, trimming, and general grounds maintenance of cemeteriesOperate mowers, tractors, dump trucks, and other equipment in a safe mannerAssist with grave site preparation, including digging, backfilling, and setting markersPerform litter control and debris removal throughout cemetery groundsAssist with snow and debris removal following inclement weatherPerform routine maintenance and basic repairs to equipment and facilitiesAssist with tree upkeep and removal as directedFollow all safety procedures and correct minor safety concerns when observedAssist with special projects and community needs as assignedProvide courteous assistance to the public and answer basic questions regarding cemetery policies and proceduresMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED preferredExperience with grounds maintenance or outdoor work preferredValid Kansas Drivers License requiredAbility to safely operate or learn to operate maintenance and grounds equipmentWork Environment:Work is performed primarily outdoors and includes exposure to varying weather conditions, equipment operation, and physical labor.
