Ranked as a top PMCM firm by Engineering News-Record (ENR) for more than three decades, our award-winning team provides a full range of services to public and private sector clients in the aviation; healthcare; education (K-12 and higher); justice and essential services; science and technology; state and local government; transportation; water and wastewater; energy; and commercial, residential and nonprofit markets.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manages, overseas and coordinates all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award,construction and close-out phase of all assigned projectsReviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to Designer as necessaryPlans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management with respect to the status and/orprogress of the projectsCoordinates with all pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction to complywith all off-site work; coordinates with various District and Project staffManages both the project budget and schedule to meet the District’s qualitative standards;monitors project budget on a monthly basis and ensures that the budget accurately reflects theproject status/progressManages the daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules andsubmittals, and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries through the Requests forClarifications (RFC) and other related documentsReviews substitution submittals from contractors to ensure specification and/or Districtrequirements are complied withReceives, reviews, and negotiates Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair &reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions; reviews and addresses any and allSchedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely mannerReviews the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers and anyother pertinent partiesAdministers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the DistrictCoordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipmentMonitors and manages project close-out with respect to project certification with the Division ofState Architects (DSA) and project financial close outPerform other related duties assignedMinimum Qualifications:Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture,engineering, or construction managementOR Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree. The candidate mustbe able to complete the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one (1) year ofemployment in the Facilities Services Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District.OR Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential may be substituted for therequired educationTen (10) years full time paid professional experience in Construction and/or a combination ofProject and Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Educational FacilityConstruction.
