Job Purpose: As a Principal Product Designer, you will lead design for large, complex, and ambiguous problem spaces across our learning product ecosystem. You will shape experience strategy, influence product direction, and raise the quality of design outcomes across teams. Youu2019ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, content designers, and business stakeholders to define vision, drive clarity, and deliver endu2011tou2011end experiences that scale. Responsibilities + Lead the design of complex endu2011tou2011end experiences spanning multiple teams, products, or initiatives. + Define experience vision, interaction models, and design principles aligned with user and business needs. + Drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces, influencing what teams build and why. + Partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content teams to deliver cohesive solutions. + Use customer research, data, and usability insights to inform and validate design decisions. + Advocate for inclusive, accessible, and scalable design solutions. + Mentor designers and raise the overall quality of design craft and execution across the team. Qualifications Required Qualifications (RQs): + Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design + OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design + OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). Preferred Qualifications (PQs): + Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design + OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 12+ years experience working in product or service design + OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). + 6+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process. + Proven experience leading design for platformu2011scale, AIu2011powered, or datau2011informed products + Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and leadership levels without direct authority + Experience mentoring designers and shaping design culture + Proficiency in Figma and modern AI prototyping tools Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
