Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Abides by nationally recognized standards and code of ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completion of all required education. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department, exhibiting a desire to learn, teach, mentor, and advance nursing skills. Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, such as signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and implements interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients to their level of understanding. Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2022 Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices u2022 Organizational and multi-tasking skills u2022 Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures u2022 Ability to work as a team player within a unit u2022 Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills u2022 EKG competency testing (based on facility/unit requirement) u2022 BLS from American Heart Association obtained within 6 months of hire u2022 New RN graduate or Registered Nurse with u2022 Previous work as a CNA, Student Nurse Tech, Triage Tech, or EMT in an acute care setting is preferred but not [Required] u2022 Volunteer experience in an acute care setting is [Preferred] u2022 Current BLS from American Heart Association [Preferred] u2022 Working knowledge of principles of Learning Management Systems (LMS) u2022 Ability to integrate the organizational educational needs into an LMS using industry and evidence-based best practices u2022 Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneNote, Snagit, and Visio u2022 Demonstrated project management, collaboration, and customer relation skills u2022 Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals u2022 Ability to use tools provided to generate custom reports based on specified business requirements u2022 Solid leadership skills, initiative, and self-direction u2022 Knowledge of adult learning principles and education administration processes [Preferred] u2022 Basic understanding of HTML and SharePoint [Preferred] u2022 Familiarity with networking, IT, and computer hardware terminology [Preferred] u2022 Knowledge of Project Management practices and software (MS Project, or other PM tools) [Preferred] Education: u2022 Associate's of Nursing [Required] u2022 Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Field of Study: u2022 N/A Work Experience: u2022 N/A Additional Information: u2022 Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
