Sr. Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team on a contract basis near Naperville, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting, analytical expertise, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in analyzing costs, improving processes, and contributing to financial forecasting efforts. Responsibilities: u2022 Analyze margin reports to identify trends and provide actionable insights. u2022 Manage cost accounting processes, including cost of goods sold calculations and supply chain analysis. u2022 Contribute to forecasting efforts by preparing accurate financial projections. u2022 Assess current procedures and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. u2022 Support general accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial standards. u2022 Conduct in-depth cost analysis to determine cost drivers and optimize profitability. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain and manufacturing cost challenges. u2022 Develop and maintain standard cost accounting systems to streamline operations. u2022 Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to stakeholders. u2022 Monitor and evaluate financial performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing. u2022 Expertise in standard cost accounting and cost analysis. u2022 Strong understanding of cost of goods sold and supply chain processes. u2022 Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations. u2022 Proficiency in general accounting principles and practices. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. u2022 Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
