Staff Accountant/Accounting clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Accounting Clerk to join our team in Plymouth, Minnesota. This is a reduced hours role, ~30 hours per week. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing financial records and processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with expertise in QuickBooks and a strong background in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and manage Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments. u2022 Handle Accounts Receivable tasks, including invoicing and monitoring collections. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks to maintain financial records and generate reports. u2022 Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy. u2022 Assist with preparing financial statements and monthly closings. u2022 Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation of accounting activities. u2022 Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards. u2022 Provide support during audits by supplying necessary documentation and information. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. u2022 Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks. u2022 Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices. u2022 Ability to reconcile accounts and handle discrepancies effectively. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and external stakeholders. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. u2022 Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
