Summary Fee for Service Physician handles consults and referrals from VISN Medical Centers and outpatient clinics. Incumbent is responsible for all functions which fall under the scope of care of Radiation Oncology, including clinical and administrative management, either directly or through delegated authority, direct clinical and administrative oversight for mid-level practitioners, physics, dosimetry, radiation therapists and other clinical staff as assigned. These include clinical and administrative management, either directly or through delegated authority. The Staff Radiation Oncologist shall be proficient in all aspects of Radiation Oncology, specifically should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following: Initial Patient evaluation Patient simulation, radiation treatment plan and prescription Patient management during treatment Follow up care post treatment Consultation with other services Provide emergency care 24 hours a day 365 days a year Research initiatives Resident supervision/education Fee Basis Rates: Fee Basis Rate Task/Service/Procedure Code - Description $157 Radiation Therapy Planning, Complex $394 Radiotherapy Dose Planning, IMRT $178 Radiation Treatment Management (On Treatment Visit) $597 SBRT Management (On Treatment Visit) $395 SRS Treatment Management (On Treatment Visit) $154 New Patient Consult, 45-59 minutes $203 New Patient Consult, 60 minutes + $84 Follow-Up, 20-29 minutes $118 Follow-Up, 30-39 minutes $166 Follow-Up, 40 minutes + $42 IMRT Patient Treated $200 SBRT Patient Treated $77 CT Simulation Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
