Job Summary The Regional Director of Infection Prevention is responsible for advancing infection prevention and patient safety by leading, facilitating and coordinating activities in infection prevention, process improvement, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and outcomes management that support CHS strategic goals. The Regional Director of Infection Prevention works closely and in collaboration with other key stakeholders/partners throughout the enterprise. The Regional Director of Infection Prevention provides oversight and leadership for system-wide infection prevention programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices. This role supports the implementation of policies, procedures, and education initiatives designed to minimize healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and communicable diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Infection Prevention, the Director works collaboratively with infection prevention teams across their region to promote patient safety and quality care. Reports to the CHS Senior Director of Infection Prevention . Essential Functions + Oversees the development, implementation, and management of system-wide infection prevention policies, procedures, and standards of practice to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including TJC, CMS, DHSR, and OSHA. + Act as a change agent driving performance at the region level by partnering with executives and senior management to execute on priorities. + Facilitate the growth of region and hospital knowledge regarding infection prevention and clinical performance, including the dissemination of best practices across the region. + Lead region-wide standardization in targeted process improvement initiatives and evaluate success through pre-established criteria. + Support assigned facilities response to HAIs. + Collaborate and interface with appropriate CHS staff to leverage corporate resources, programs, and tools for the benefit of assigned hospitals. + Act as a change agent and collaborate with hospital quality, risk, and safety leaders to maximize ranking in state and national publicly reported data initiatives + Participate in regular analysis of regional infection prevention performance data and plan steps for ongoing improvement. + Note trends and identify and prioritize improvement opportunities through continuous monitoring and evaluation of regional infection prevention outcomes. + Facilitate and/or lead clinical process improvement teams as needed to achieve infection prevention goals. + Provide orientation for new facility infection prevention leaders and ongoing education and support of all facility infection prevention leaders. + Communicate effectively with facility/market/regional/corporate leaders about results of and/or barriers to achievement of infection prevention goals.
