Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role involves working with various machines in a production setting, including vacuum metallizing, mixing, coating, and slitting machines. You will be responsible for operating machines, inspecting products, and ensuring quality standards are met. Responsibilities + Operate a vacuum metallizing machine, setting up and installing rolls of product, and threading the film. + Monitor machine operations closely, adjusting temperature, speeds, tensions, and inspecting for defects. + Perform routine maintenance, clean machines and parts between runs, and handle materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts. + Operate mixing machines, applying coatings, embossing, slitting rolls of film, and performing quality control checks. + Set up and operate slitting machines, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring client specifications are met. + Manage coating processes based on work instructions and client specifications, inspect end products, and prepare materials for shipping. + Perform heavy lifting and ensure specific product material stocks are ready for production runs. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience in large machine operation with consistent tenure. + Ability to stand on feet all day and lift 60+ lbs with the use of crane, hoist, and cart. + Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Experience in mixing chemicals and working in environments with strong odors. + 1+ years of experience with large industrial machines such as printing press and converting machines. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with slitter or coating machines is a plus. + Familiarity with continuous material machines. + Awareness of surroundings and a focus on safety. Work Environment Work on a production floor where safety is a priority. Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required, and other personal protective equipment is provided as needed. The mixing room has a strong odor similar to a nail salon, but a mask is optional. Work hours are from Monday to Friday, with 2nd shift running from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
