Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing u2013 $60/hr u2013 Medford, OR u2013 Full-Time (Itinerant)Position Overview: Amergis is seeking a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing to provide instructional services to students with hearing impairments. The educator will deliver academic instruction aligned with regular or adapted curriculum, support communication access, and utilize specialized methods and equipment to meet the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing learners. Assignment Details: Location: Medford, OR Start Date: August 24, 2026 Contract Length: 39 weeks Schedule: 40 hours/week Modality: Itinerant Openings: 2 Interview Type: Virtual Role Responsibilities: + Provide instruction for deaf and hard-of-hearing students across assigned locations + Teach academic subjects using standard or adapted curriculum + Utilize sign language and amplification equipment appropriately + Support communication access and language development + Maintain compliance with professional standards and state regulations + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams + Document services according to program expectations Credentials & Qualifications: + Bacheloru2019s Degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid teaching certificate as required by the state + Experience with deaf and hard-of-hearing students (preferred) + Knowledge of Sign Language and amplification devices + ASL proficiency exam or certification may be required depending on state or contract + CPR certification (if applicable) + TB screening and health clearance (as required) + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age + State Requirement: Oregon DHH License or eligibility to obtain licensure Pay Information: Hourly Rate: $60/hr Weekly Travel Pay: $2,600/week Contact Information: Cyrus Vess National Recruitment Manager Phone: 813-371-5185 Email: Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
