Participates in equipment planning, research, support and departmental projects. The ideal caregiver will have a good understanding ofhealthcare workflow as it pertains to Clinical Engineering.A caregiver in this position works days,Monday - Friday 7:00am—3:30pm +oncallrotation.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment as assigned.Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory,serviceand repairs.Collaborate with information technology staff to integrate medical equipment systems with information systems applications.Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Associate’s degree in biomedical or Electronic Engineering2 years of Cleveland Clinic Clinical Engineering Tech I experienceORfour years outside experiencemaintainingand troubleshooting medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician fieldHigh School diploma/GED and four years of Cleveland Clinic Clinical Engineering Tech I experienceORsix years outside experiencemaintainingand troubleshooting medical equipmentORequipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field can substitute for work experienceBachelor's degree in biomedical or electrical Engineering or IT (Information Technology) technical field can substitute for the required experienceEquivalent specialized or military training may substitute for the degreePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor's DegreeCertified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)Physical Requirements: Physical demands include ability to move 75 pounds; to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.Manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts.Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $27.65Maximum hourly: $42.17The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
