The Opportunity As a dedicated Business Architect Senior supporting the Property & Casualty Portfolio Management Office , you will play a pivotal role in delivering our organizational strategy, driving the successful execution of initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. In this role you will apply deep business knowledge and technical skills to increase strategy to execution alignment, set architecture strategy and governance for the holistic business ecosystem, guide cross-functional teams to systemically align business strategies and technology investments, and support portfolio planning, prioritization, and execution readiness processes. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: u2022 Provides direction and guidance on the business architecture and monitors implemented strategic plans and progress towards strategic goals. u2022 Supports Senior Strategy Officer and Line of Business Senior Executives with leveraging insights to inform strategic choices definition, fact-based prioritization analyses, and business opportunity assessments. u2022 Executes business architecture approaches to facilitate business strategy. u2022 Translation/decomposition/deconstruction and visualize for the alignment of the organizational spans and layers (i.e., strategy blueprints) with business executives. u2022 Contributes to the design of and facilitates current and target state assessments to inform and visualize internal business capability maturity needs and prioritization over the strategic horizon (i.e., capability-based planning). u2022 Applies and utilizes business modeling methods to ensure a consistent and complete business knowledgebase and blueprints for planning, portfolio, and executive decision-making and analysis. u2022 Serves as a conduit within the business, across business lines, and extended architecture community (enterprise, technical, process, and information) in the alignment of subsequent strategies, plans, and business architecture artifacts. u2022 Facilitates, negotiates, and represents business' interests in the maturation and investment in business architecture. u2022 Facilitates the creation and alignment of the business architecture framework, governing principles, and best practices. u2022 Contributes to the development of the business architecture metamodel and supporting tool suite, and alignment to other architecture domain metamodels and frameworks. u2022 Stays updated on industry trends and best practices related to business architecture. u2022 Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. What you have: u2022 Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. u2022 6 years of relevant business architecture experience to include practice and knowledgebase development and maturation, strategy translation/decomposition/deconstruction, capability-based planning to include business capability assessments and capability roadmap development. u2022 2 years of hands-on experience developing business architecture for large scale strategic priorities and business strategies. u2022 Experience executing standard business architecture approaches and leading cross-functional teams to deliver upon architecture services. u2022 Experience working with a diverse set of strategy, planning, and execution methods (Waterfall and Agile). u2022 Ability to influence and explain complex architecture recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization. u2022 Experience in independent development and relationship mapping between value stream maps, business capability maps, organizational graphs, and/or business strategy blueprints to present ideas and proposals for informed business decisions in pursuit of strategic outcomes. u2022 Knowledge and application of industry standard business and enterprise architecture meta modeling, tooling, and frameworks (BIZBOKu00ae, TOGAFu00ae). u2022 Experience in the application of business architecture standards, principles, and policies and knowledge of applicable regulations and risk management practices. What sets you apart: u2022 Prior U.S. military service or being a military spouse/domestic partner is highly valued. u2022 3 or more years working in property and casualty insurance industry u2022 Experience working with business partners in targeted conversations for early clarification of strategic intent and target state u2022 Experience conducting various business architecture tasks in collaboration with PMO practices and methods (e.g., waterfall, SAFe/Agile) u2022 Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and sustaining ongoing business architectural artifacts and decision support to optimize value creation u2022 Consistent track record of thinking, crafting and implementing solutions with a systems-thinking, member-centric approach u2022 Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills to effectively convey insights to diverse audiences, including senior leadership. Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450.00 - $197,730.00. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
