Duties Include + Evaluation of client needs + Treatment planning + Implementation of occupational therapy treatment + Documenting treatment per facility and regulatory guidelines + Reassessment of client progress and treatment plan + Client discharge planning + Regular communication with rehabilitation team members, clients, client family members, and other health care or community partners regarding treatment programs and services + May include supervising assigned staff, students, interns, and volunteers The 2548 may perform other duties as assigned/required. One-yearu00a0full-timeu00a0employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).u00a0 Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate Requirement/Provision Possession of a valid Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association is required as a provision to employment for all positions. Eligibles who do not possess such a certification may participate in this examination process and be appointed to a position(s),but will be required to obtain the certificate within two (2) weeks of the hire date and maintain validity throughout the length of employment. A photocopy of the valid Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate must be provided to the appropriate supervisor of the appointment within the allotted time frame. Failure to demonstrate/show proof of possession of valid certification within two (2) weeks of the hire date and throughout the length of employment may result in dismissal and/or termination of employment.u00a0 Additional qualifications may be required among these example opportunities: Rehabilitation Departmentu00a0- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) ZSFG is a community hospital and the only Level I Trauma Center for San Francisco and northern San Mateo. Occupational therapists provide Inpatient Acute Care Rehabilitation, SNF Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services which include Hand Therapy Services. Our mission is to provide high-quality, equitable, and compassionate rehabilitation services to the greater San Francisco community. ZSFG is a teaching hospital that provides care to both the adult and pediatric populations. Occupational therapists who have experience working with individuals who have sustained poly-trauma, neurologic impairment, orthopedic injury, and general medicine patients are encouraged to apply. Clinical mentorship is available. Department of Psychiatryu00a0- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) At ZSFG in the Department of Psychiatry, Occupational Therapists who have recent experience within the last year of working with people who have a mental health diagnosis, or those who have successful completion of a 3-month internship in mental health may apply. OTs in this division provide group and individual psycho-social interventions for adults in the inpatient locked psychiatric acute and sub-acute units, jail psychiatric unit, and psychiatric emergency service. OTs with experience leading a variety of evidenced-based practice groups and those familiar with sensory modulation interventions are encouraged to apply. Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center is one of the largest long-term care facilities in the country, offering Acute Rehabilitation Services, SNF Rehabilitation Services, and Long-Term Care for residents of the City and County of San Francisco in need of these services. Occupational Therapists who are interested in working with a dynamic, diverse, and team-oriented group of professionals in this care setting should apply. Occupational Therapists who have experience working with under-served San Francisco individuals, who have neurological impairments such as traumatic and acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, as well as polytrauma, and hand therapy, will be an asset. Experienced therapists and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Health at Home Occupational therapists with two (2) or more years of clinical experience and a desire to practice occupational therapy with a diverse patient population and on a dynamic and collaborative care team should apply. The Health at Home Occupational Therapist provides home therapy and case management to homebound residents of San Francisco, primarily within the San Francisco Health Network. Previous home health experience is not required,but is highly desirable. Occupational Therapists who have experience, or a strong desire to work with the underserved San Francisco population, display a high level of self-awareness, and are comfortable working in an autonomous environment are an asset and encouraged to apply. California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Program At CCS, Occupational Therapists provide services to clients, ranging in age from birth to 21 years, who are eligible for services through the Medical Therapy Program. Examples of CCS-MTP eligible conditions include neuromuscular/ musculoskeletal conditions such as cerebral palsy, juvenile arthritis, congenital deformities, muscular dystrophy, amputation, arthrogryposis, and other conditions caused by major sequelae from pediatric stroke, cancer, traumatic injuries, infectious diseases, or other progressive disorders. Services are primarily provided in an outpatient clinic setting but may also be provided in the public-school setting or within the home/community to address equipment needs and caregiver training. When appropriate and necessary, services may also be provided via telehealth. Applicants who are comfortable working in an autonomous environment are strongly desired.
