Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions with a focus on corporate tax and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Performs general accounting functions, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries. u2022 Manages payroll and benefits accounting, ensuring timely recording, reconciliation, and audit accuracy. u2022 Oversees cash management activities such as deposits, wires, and fund transfers. u2022 Maintains and processes accounting transactions within ERP and financial systems. u2022 Prepares financial reports and analyses to support the Controller. u2022 Assists with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations. u2022 Conducts monthly balance sheet reconciliations and updates accounting policies and procedures. u2022 Coordinates with vendors, staff, faculty, and students on accounting-related matters. u2022 Ensures compliance with accounting standards and tax filing requirements. u2022 Performs additional accounting and administrative duties as needed. Requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills. u2022 Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail. u2022 Solid understanding of financial and accrual accounting principles, including GAAP compliance. u2022 Proficient in general ledger and accounting software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. u2022 Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, and a collaborative attitude. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance. u2022 Minimum of three yearsu2019 experience in general or payroll accounting. u2022 Ability to learn and navigate enterprise database systems; experience with Ellucian Colleague is a plus. u2022 Capable of working independently and collaboratively across departments. u2022 Highly organized with strong time management and data accuracy skills Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
