One way that it accomplishes this mission is by making available to the public reports filed by candidates and officeholders disclosing their campaign political contributions and expenditures.This position assists the TECand#8217;s Computer Services Division to maintain, improve and use the TECand#8217;s electronic filing system, website, and bulk email program.The software engineer in this position performs complex (journey-level) computer programming work. Work involves analyzing system specifications to develop software for computer applications; developing solution software; documenting the methods and procedures used in software development; and testing, correcting, and revising software. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:and#183; Manage and operate the agencyand#8217;s bulk email program, including maintaining the email address database, preparing notices, determining the email distribution lists, handling bounces, and updating the filing system database with the transmitted bulk email notices.and#183; Update the agency website to keep web pages and documents related to notices to filers and filing deadlines current.and#183; Prepare the filing system database for filing deadlines. May assist in creating and/or reviewing statewide filing deadline documents.and#183; Manage elections, ballots, and election results in the filing system database.and#183; Maintain the filing system database for compliance, accuracy, and completeness of records.and#183; Troubleshoot issues found in the filing application manager, the filing system database, and the filing applications. Communicate your findings with the filing system vendor to remediate the issue found.and#183; Assist in designing and testing enhancements to the electronic filing system.and#183; Provide customer support to filers who need assistance with making their filed reports compliant with statutes and rules.and#183; Calculate agency measures and assist in preparing agency reports.and#183; Analyze, review, and revise software programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new procedures.and#183; Design, code, test, and debug programs as outlined by a systemand#8217;s technical and functional requirements.and#183; Compile and document procedures and instructions used throughout program development and revision.and#183; Assist in performing research and the analysis required for project proposal, software and systems modifications, and new projects.and#183; May assist in the generation or installation of systems software.and#183; Perform related work as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is performed in a standard office environment and requires:and#183; Ability to remain in a seated position for long periods of time.and#183; Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.and#183; Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices andand#183; policies.and#183; Marginal or corrected visual and auditory requirements.and#183; Constant use of personal computers, copiers, printers, and telephones.and#183; The ability to move about the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.and#183; The ability to work under deadlines, as a team member, and in direct contact with others.and#183; Confidentiality - must be able to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
