In this key technical role, you will lead and execute complex structural engineering tasks on major transportation projects, with a strong focus on bridge and transportation structure design. Youu2019ll serve as a senior technical expert and/or task lead on both local and nationally-recognized highway and rail projects, performing advanced structural analysis, guiding design development, and reviewing critical project documentation.When you join us, youu2019ll be responsible for:u2022 Leading and performing complex structural analysis and design for highway and rail bridges and related transportation structuresu2022 Developing and reviewing design plans, technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reportsu2022 Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineersu2022 Coordinating with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholdersu2022 Conducting occasional structural inspections as required u2022 BS in civil/structural engineering (MS/MCE Preferred)u2022 Minimum of 5 years' of demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include design, analysis, and plan development of new and rehabilitation projectsu2022 Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in MD, or able to obtain in 3 monthsu2022 Experience working with MDOT SHA, MDTA, and MTA, including familiarity with SHAu2019s Guidelines and Procedures Memoranda, Structural Details, ProjectWise, and MDTAu2019s ASIR.u2022 Ability to produce design computations, plans, specifications, estimates, and reportsu2022 Demonstrated experience on various bridge types, including prestressed concrete and steel superstructures, and substructure designu2022 Proficiency in CAD systems, specifically MicroStation, including experience with SHA CADD Workspace and ProjectWiseu2022 Experience with modeling software, including OpenBridge/OpenRoads Designeru2022 Proficiency with structural design/analysis software, including CSIBridge, STAAD, LARS, or other structural design/analyses programsu2022 Proficiency with structural design software, including Leap Bridge Steel and/or Concrete, or other structural design programsu2022 Solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and the AREMA code to transportation structuresu2022 Proficiency in performing QA/QC using Bluebeam, PDF-Xchange Editor, and/or Adobe Acrobatu2022 Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative group environment in person and remotely through Microsoft TeamsIdeally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 Completion of NHI Course No. 130056 - Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridgesu2022 Bridge inspection experienceu2022 Active involvement in local engineering societies.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
