*Job Description** **Position Title:** **Technical Assistant – Utilities (Power)** **Pay Rate** : $101,000 - $134,600 _Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range._ **Category/Shift** : Salaried Full-Time **Physical Location** : 3203 International Dr. Selma, AL The Riverdale Mill is currently seeking a Technical Assistant (TA) for the Power department. Riverdale Mill, located in Selma AL, is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines, one producing Brite Top liner and one producing uncoated free sheet. In addition to the machines, the mill includes multiple process lines, including wood handling, pulping and OCC, power and recovery, sheeting operations and effluent treatment. The Utilities Technical Assistant will be an assistant to the Utilities Area Manager. This position will act as a resource for all facets of day-to-day operations in the Power area, while designing systems to build long-term stability and reliability. The Utilities Technical Assistant will be heavily involved in a broad spectrum of areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and People. They must help manage the safety, environmental, people, operations, and reliability performance of the Power Area. **The Job You Will Perform:** The Power TA will be heavily involved in a broad spectrum of areas including operations, maintenance, technical, and people. **Primary focus will be on Boiler water treatment, steam quality, condensate return systems, raw water treatment, waste water, sludge pressing, and air systems.** + All safety and environmental results for the Power house. + Building, communicating, and executing consistent operating practices across all shifts. + Developing and maintaining Operator engagement through communication, empowerment, and training. + Assist in directing and leading the Power FLL’s with clear expectations and accountability. + Investigating, resolving, and implementing process improvements. + Interfacing with other departments to ensure quality parameters are achieved and maintained. + Serving as operational support for reliability efforts, including MWS, Basic Care, IEPM, and RCFA. + Serving as operational support for capital needs, including the development of FEL1 level of the Project Development Process (PDP). + Providing support on project management and/or outage management during weekly/annual outages. + Managing area costs and meeting budget. + Filling in as the Utilities Area Manager when needed + Build effective systems and materials such as operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting documents (TCC), and other training materials. + Fulfill weekend duty team leadership role for the PBU **The Skills You Will Bring:** + Five (5) years post college experience in manufacturing, preferably in Power Operations/Maintenance. + Technical degree in engineering and some supervisory experience is preferred. + Successful candidate should have the ability to: + Instill safety as a core value within the team and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety + Quickly develop thorough knowledge of mill equipment and systems + Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels + Approach positional responsibilities in an inclusive manner by engaging all team members in area, department, and mill + Possess Manufacturing Excellence (ME) certification of white or green belt + Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively **About Us** **The Benefits You Will Enjoy:** International Paper offers a benefits package that includes health, welfare and retirement plans including Medical, Dental, Life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Short-term and Long-term Disability, 401(k), Company-funded retirement contributions, Paid Time Off, Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement), Student Loan Repayment Assistance, and Voluntary Benefits including insurance for home, auto, vision and pets **The Career You Will Build:** Leadership training, promotional opportunities **The Impact You Will Make:** We continue to build a better future for people, the planet, and our company!
