WHEDA is seeking a Program Specialist to join ourCompliance department in our Madison facility. SALARY: Hiring Range forthis position is from $22.43-$27.17 Hourly. Offered Salary will bebased on qualifications and internal pay equity. POSITION OVERVIEW: The ProgramSpecialist position is responsible for reviewing and processing monthlytransactions related to Housing and Urban Development (HUD) contractsadministered by WHEDA. The position also provides technical assistancewith monitoring HUD contract tasks to ensure compliance. ESSENTIALDUTIES: Reviews, evaluates, analyzes, and processes data and paymentsrelated to HUD Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) and HUD special claimsin accordance with applicable regulations and established procedures;identifies and resolves errors. Assesses compliance of owners and agentsparticipating in HUD programs; works closely with owners and agents tomonitor compliance and correct deficiencies in accordance with federalregulations; administers and assists in coordination of internalprocesses to monitor and document compliance. Reports to manager andowners/agents on portfolio performance. Assists in coordinating andcarrying out the day-to-day operations of the Risk & Compliancedepartment. Participates in analysis of selecting/implementing new andexisting software and formulating/modifying new and existing policies,programs, and procedures. Performs or assists with other duties asassigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND 3 years ofrelevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education andexperience Valid Driver's License KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: HUD systems,deadlines, and requirements Proficiency with computer software,Microsoft Office, and the internet Data collection and research methodsDatabase management principles Strong mathematical aptitude Housingregulations, principles, practices, procedures, and applicable federal,state, and local laws Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshootfor process improvement Customer service principles Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills, including preparation of businesscorrespondence Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressureSuccessful prioritizing and management of work projects Ability to workindependently and efficiently Strong adherence to confidentiality inworking with clients and vendors This position has a work schedule thatwill be 100% in-office work during training.
